Retired Air
Force Major General Burton Moore, BJ ’63,
is serving as a Fox News military analyst during the war in
Iraq. Moore was the director of Central Command during the 1991
Persian Gulf War. He retired from the military in July 1992.
His military decorations and awards include the Legion of Merit,
Distinguished Flying Cross with oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star
Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Air
Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Commendation
Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, Combat
Readiness Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service
Medal with four service stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign
Medal.
Susan
Barone, BS HE ‘85, is a trailblazer in the women’s
plus-sized apparel market. She is president and CEO of Uniquely
Me, a web-based company offering clothing for plus-sized
women, including swimwear and lingerie. Uniquely Me has come
to be known as the “King of Swimwear,” carrying
more than 60 styles of swimwear throughout the year. Since the
company’s inception in 2000, Barone and her partner/sister,
Cheryl Anderson, have tapped into a market that has been sorely
neglected by designers, manufacturers and retailers.
Lee Strobel,
BJ ’74, is author of several best-selling books, three
of which have been awarded Gold Medallions for excellence. His
book The Case for Christ has sold more than a million
copies in eight languages since it was published in 1998, and
its sequel, The Case for Faith, is currently among
the top-selling Christian books in America. His latest book,
Surviving a Spiritual Mismatch in Marriage, is a collaborative
effort with his wife, Leslie. Strobel is a professor-in-residence
at Trinity Law School and a teaching pastor at the second largest
church in America — Saddleback Valley Community Church
in Orange County, Calif. A former atheist and award-winning
legal editor of the Chicago Tribune, Strobel also served
as editor of the Columbia Daily Tribune and assistant
managing editor of the Daily Herald in Chicago.
