Residence
Halls Get a Facelift
This year, residents of Hatch and McDavid
halls will be able to live in the first halls to undergo extensive
renovation as part of the Residential
Life Master Plan.
Hatch received an $18.4-million renovation
that included the addition of central heat and air conditioning
to every residence hall room, new flooring throughout the building,
renovated restrooms and new furnishings throughout the student
rooms and common areas. See
images.
McDavid Hall received a $6-million renovation
that included new flooring, new lighting, new furnishings and
the creation of more usable space on the ground floor. McDavid
Hall houses the Fine Arts Residential Community, which makes the
ground floor perfect for music practice rooms, an art studio (complete
with claypen, drafting table and sewing machines) and a space
for a literary magazine and in-hall radio station. See
images.
