Careers in the Fast Lane

Sheryl Crow, BS Ed ’84, picked up her ninth Grammy Award. She won the award for “Best Female Rock Vocal Performance” for her song “Steve McQueen” at the 45th annual awards ceremony held in New York on Feb. 23. To date, all of Crow’s albums have been honored with Grammy awards.

Christopher Mykrantz, BJ ’81, vice president of employee communications for GreenPoint Financial Corp. in New York City, was recently elected president of the Council of Communication Management. CCM is a national best practice and networking organization for senior corporate communications professionals.

Mizzou alumni were recognized as outstanding professionals in the St. Louis Business Journal’s ninth annual “40 Under 40” issue, Jan. 17-23.

  • Jim Maher, BS Ag ’88, JD ’91 — financial adviser in charge for the Metro East Merrill Lynch
  • Scott Miller, BJ ’89 — partner, Marketing Matters consulting firm; partial owner of St. Louis-area Bassett Furniture Direct
  • Michael Katz, AB ’85 — partner, Goldberg Katz LLC; founder of The Judy Ride Foundation, which raises money for cancer research
  • Patrick Kenny, JD ’90 — partner, Armstrong Teasdale

The St. Louis Business Journal also recognized Mizzou alumni in its fourth annual "100 Leaders" section, Feb. 14-20.
