MU Introduces First Puppy Pacemaker
Veterinary cardiologists implanted a dual chamber pacemaker in an English springer spaniel named Missy. Although there are no pacemakers specifically for dogs, doctors believe the device can correct the same abnormalities that afflict humans. Read more

You Can Assist Florida Alumni

Close to 5,000 Mizzou graduates live in Florida, which is recovering after being hit by Hurricane Charley, the strongest hurricane to strike Florida since Andrew in 1992. You can help victims of Hurricane Charley and other disasters by contributing to the American Red Cross Disaster Fund. Go to the American Red Cross web site for more information.

Tigers Set Goals for 2004 Football Season
Tiger football is coming off a successful season that resulted in the team’s first bowl game in five years. This year’s team looks to build on that success and challenge for the Big 12 title. Read more

Tigers Rank Fourth in Academic All-Americans
MU placed fourth among the NCAA programs in the Academic All-Americans division. Seven student athletes earned first-team honors during the 2003-04 school year. Read more

Swim Team Adds Nine Recruits and
New Assistant Coach

The MU swimming and diving program has recruited three women and six men to join the Tigers in the fall. Get details. Coach Brian Hoffer recently hired former Tiger swimmer Chris Peters as assistant swimming coach and recruiting coordinator.

Spoonhour Joins Men’s Basketball Program
Jay Spoonhour, former assistant coach and interim head coach at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, is Mizzou’s third assistant coach with head coaching experience. Spoonhour also coached at Saint Louis University and Central Missouri State University. Read more
