Grant Allows MU to Train Veterinary Dentists
Have
you ever wondered if dogs get toothaches? They do. In fact, oral
hygiene has important health implications for all animals. Thanks
to a generous grant from Pfizer Animal Health, MU will open a veterinary
dentistry laboratory to train students and licensed veterinarians.

Journalism Receives $2.5 Million Bequest
Paul Synor, BJ ’42, who enjoyed
a remarkable career in advertising while working for the agency
responsible for creating such brand icons as Tony the Tiger, the
Pillsbury Doughboy, Morris the Cat and Charlie the Tuna, bequeathed
$2.5 million to the Missouri School of Journalism. The gift will
be used to enhance strategic communication studies in the advertising

The alleged political leanings of mainstream
media outlets have provided much fodder for talking heads on the
right and the left. Jeff Milyo, a researcher in MU’s Truman
School of Public Affairs and the department of economics, found
that major mainstream media outlets do in fact exhibit a strong

Recent polls and studies indicate the
American public believes journalists are ethically challenged.
However, a new study by School of Journalism Professor Lee Wilkins
found that journalism is one of the most morally developed professions
