Membership Reaches New Heights
More MU graduates and Tiger fans—35,215,
to be exact— now support Mizzou through membership
in the MU Alumni Association. The association’s membership
roster reached its annual peak in late June, setting a new record.

Student Scholarship Support Soars
During the 2004-05 academic year, the
Alumni Association will distribute $199,571 in scholarships to
183 incoming and current students. This is the largest amount
ever awarded in a single year. Find

Recent Grads Receive New
Discount on Membership
As of July 1, 2004, alumni who have
graduated from Mizzou during the past three years are eligible
to join the MU Alumni Association at a reduced rate. Get

Search Underway for New Association Director
A search is in progress for a new executive
director of the MU Alumni Association and associate vice chancellor
for alumni relations. The search committee is chaired by Debbie
Snellen, MUAA’s immediate past president, and Chris Koukola,
assistant to the chancellor for University Affairs.


Two Basketball Coaches Hired
Melvin Watkins and Jeff Meyer have joined
the MU men’s basketball coaching staff. After spending six
years as head coach at Texas A&M University, Watkins
was named associate head coach for the Tigers. Meyer,
who recently came from Butler University, will be assistant coach.

MU recently responded to the
notice of allegations received from the National Collegiate Athletic
Association regarding the men’s basketball program. View

Former Tiger Runner Is Athens Bound
After achieving a personal best in the
800-meter run at the U.S. Olympic trials, Derrick Peterson earned
a spot on the U.S. Olympic team and the opportunity to compete

Men’s Golf Coach
Mark Leroux led the Austin Peay Governors to three NCAA tournaments.
The award-winning coach also built the women’s team from
scratch, turning them into one of the best female golf teams in

Earn
All-American, Regional Recognition
First baseman Cody Ehlers and relief pitcher Mark Alexander were
named All-American Honorable Mentions, and pitcher Garrett Broshuis
was named a second team All-American by CollegeBaseballInsider.com.
Broshuis and designated hitter Lee Laskowski were selected to
the American Baseball Coaches Association Rawlings All-Midwest

The football game at Troy State scheduled for Sept. 11 has been
