Building biochemistry bridges

an addition to Schweitzer Hall and a new $2.3 million nuclear
magnetic resonance spectrometer, the second of its generation

Even ancient people liked a little
spice in their food. MU anthropologist Deborah Pearsall and colleagues
from the Smithsonian found chili pepper residue on kitchen tools
from 6,000 years ago. Their discovery made the top 100 science stories
of the year in the Jan. 2008 issue of Discover magazine.

A piano man’s tribute
MU alumnus Carle Bolte Jr. uses his
music composing talents to pay tribute to his alma mater. Listen

ROTC training takes
off
The Mizzou Reserve Officer Training Corps program has more than
doubled in size in the past five years. In addition, the U.S.
Army Cadet Command recently honored the MU Army ROTC program as
the top unit of its size in the western United States. Glimpse
