MU researchers are trying to solve the problem of invasive Asian carp in Missouri rivers. The pesky high-jumping fish is being turned into “carp cakes” for zoo animals. This innovative idea has been featured on everything from MSNBC and ESPN to The Washington Post. Read more

University Hospital Celebrates 50 Years
University Hospital and Clinics opened its doors at its current location on Sept. 16, 1956. Today, it is part of the University of Missouri Health Care system and serves patients from every county in Missouri. Read More

New Tiger Basketball Book
Celebrates Hardwood Heroes

As a gift to yourself or your favorite Tiger, we suggest True Sons: A Century of Missouri Tigers Basketball. The book, written by Michael Atchison, BA ’90, JD ’93, features 300 photos and detailed recaps of 100 seasons. MU Alumni Association members save 10 percent on the cost of the book.

Mizzou Is Bowl Bound for
Second Consecutive Year
The Tigers are bowl-eligible again, and the association will host the official bowl tour. More details will be available after the bowl announcement on Dec. 3. Register your preferences on our bowl interest form and get ready to travel, Tiger style.

Distinguished Faculty and Alumni Honored
The annual Faculty-Alumni Awards, which started in 1968, give the association an opportunity to recognize outstanding achievements and service to higher education. Meet the 2006 honorees.

Staying Power
The MU Alumni Association celebrated its sesquicentennial in September with a gala dinner and dance under the moon on Carnahan Quadrangle. Get highlights and view photos.

It’s a Tough Job
Actor Robert Loggia, a 1951 journalism graduate, spoke to theatre students in October at MUs Rhynsburger Theatre. He shared tales and offered valuable advice from his 50 years of work in films, TV, theatre and even video games. Read more
