Schedule Update
The University of Missouri football game
at Troy State scheduled for Sept. 11 has been moved to Sept. 9
to accommodate a national cable telecast, as announced July 7
by both schools. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. Central Time
and will air on ESPN-2.
Mizzou now has two games set for television
for the 2004 season, with the potential for several others to
be chosen at a later date. The other game currently guaranteed
for telecast is the Nov. 27 regular-season finale at Iowa State,
which will be shown on ABC. In 2003, MU had a record nine games
televised.
Gary Pinkel’s Tigers, coming off an
8-5 season, enter the 2004 campaign picked to win the Big 12 Conference
North Division title by many pre-season publications. The Tigers
return four starters on offense, including pre-season All-American
and Heisman Trophy candidate Brad Smith at quarterback. Mizzou
also returns nine starters on a defense which was one of the league’s
most improved in 2003.
Season tickets for MU’s home schedule
are available by calling the MU Ticket Office at 1-800-CAT-PAWS,
or 884-PAWS in Columbia. The home schedule of foes for 2004 includes
Arkansas State (Sept. 4), Ball State (Sept. 18), Colorado (Oct.
2), Oklahoma State (Oct. 23 – Homecoming), Kansas State
(Nov. 6) and Kansas (Nov. 20).
