McCubbin Appointed Interim Director of Alumni Organization

By Jeremy Diener

Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Relations David Housh has appointed Todd McCubbin interim executive director of the MU Alumni Association. McCubbin replaces J. Todd Coleman, who has taken a position with Purdue University in Indiana.

“I have been very impressed with the work that McCubbin does as assistant executive director for the Alumni Association,” Housh said. “I know that the strong relationships he has built with the MUAA Governing Board and his leadership role with LINC, which is our major alumni-legislative volunteer board, will be a great asset for him in this interim position.”

As interim director, McCubbin will direct the operational and financial activities of the Alumni Association. He has served in various positions within the Association since joining MU in 1995, most recently as the assistant executive director.

“I’m excited and honored to serve as interim executive director during this time of transition,” McCubbin said. “Todd Coleman has left the Association in great shape with an outstanding staff and exceptional volunteers. I look forward to working with our staff and volunteers to continue the MUAA mission of supporting Mizzou.”

McCubbin joined the staff of the MUAA as the coordinator of alumni relations in 1995. In 1996 he was named assistant director of alumni relations, and became director of marketing in 1997. He was appointed assistant executive director of the Association in 1999.

McCubbin received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Truman State University in 1993 and a master’s degree in education from MU in 1995. He is a member of the Alternate Income Committee with the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, has served as a program chair and sponsorship chair of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s District XI Conference and was selected as Forman Fellow for the Council of Alumni Association Executives in 2000.

“The University of Missouri Alumni Association is indeed fortunate to have McCubbin serving in the position of interim executive director,” said MUAA President Debbie Snellen. “We are grateful that Coleman always viewed McCubbin as a partner in the leadership of MUAA. McCubbin’s breadth of experiences with our association and his devotion to our University will serve him well and will be of great benefit in the transition.”
